Olaplex Treatment

£30
15 mins

An Olaplex treatment is a professional bond-building service that repairs damage from colour, bleach, and heat styling by reconnecting broken disulfide bonds deep in the hair shaft. Applied to clean, damp hair and processed for around ten minutes, it strengthens compromised hair and reduces breakage, leaving it healthier and more resilient. Particularly effective after highlights, full head tints, balayage, or colour correction, this 15-minute standalone treatment fits easily into your routine at our Handcross salon.

More information

What happens during the treatment

Your stylist will:

  • Shampoo your hair to remove product build-up and open the cuticle
  • Apply the Olaplex bond-building formula thoroughly from roots to ends
  • Leave it to process for approximately 10 minutes
  • Rinse, then apply a second conditioning step to lock in the repair
  • Finish with your usual styling or blow-dry

The treatment is quick, straightforward, and can be added to any colour service or booked as a standalone appointment.

Who it's for

Olaplex works best on hair that has been chemically treated or heat-styled regularly. You'll see the most noticeable improvement if your hair is:

  • Bleached, highlighted, or coloured frequently
  • Prone to breakage, dryness, or brittleness
  • Damaged from straighteners, curling irons, or blow-drying
  • In need of strength before or after a colour correction or major change

If your hair is already in good condition, the treatment will help maintain strength and protect against future damage, though results may be less dramatic.

Results and aftercare

You'll notice hair that feels stronger and more manageable immediately after the treatment, with reduced breakage over time. Because Olaplex rebuilds internal structure rather than just coating the surface, results are cumulative—regular treatments offer the best long-term benefit.

To protect your results:

  • Use a gentle, sulphate-free shampoo
  • Limit heat styling where possible, and always use a heat protectant
  • Book follow-up treatments every 4–6 weeks if your hair is very damaged
  • Combine with conditioning treatments like K18 or glossing services for additional shine and smoothness

Our team in Handcross will recommend a maintenance plan tailored to your hair's condition and your styling routine.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an Olaplex treatment cost at Aaron Russell?
An Olaplex treatment is £30 as a standalone service and takes around 15 minutes. It can also be added to any colour appointment for the same price.
How long does an Olaplex treatment take?
The treatment itself takes approximately 15 minutes, including application, processing time, and rinsing. If added to a colour service, it's built into your overall appointment time.
What does Olaplex actually do to your hair?
Olaplex works at a molecular level to reconnect broken disulfide bonds in the hair shaft, which are damaged by bleach, colour, heat styling, and chemical treatments. This rebuilds internal strength, reduces breakage, and improves overall hair health.
Will I see results after one Olaplex treatment?
Most clients notice hair feels stronger and more manageable immediately, especially if it's chemically treated or heat-damaged. For very compromised hair, multiple treatments every 4–6 weeks will deliver the fullest, most lasting results.
Is Olaplex better for damaged hair or healthy hair?
Olaplex is most effective on hair that has been bleached, coloured, or heat-styled regularly. If your hair is already healthy, it will help maintain strength and protect against future damage, but the difference will be less noticeable.
Can I have Olaplex on the same day as colour or highlights?
Yes. Olaplex is often added during or immediately after colour services like highlights, balayage, full head tints, or colour correction to protect and repair bonds as they're being stressed by chemicals.
How often should I have an Olaplex treatment?
For damaged hair, every 4–6 weeks is ideal. For maintenance or less compromised hair, once every 8–12 weeks is usually enough. Your stylist will recommend a schedule based on your hair's condition.
Do I need to do anything before my Olaplex appointment?
Just come with your hair as it is—your stylist will shampoo it at the start of the treatment to prepare it properly. There's no special preparation needed.
How long do Olaplex results last?
Results are cumulative and most noticeable over a series of treatments. You'll feel the strengthening effect immediately, but ongoing care—gentle cleansing, heat protection, and regular treatments—will keep your hair in the best condition long-term.
Can I combine Olaplex with other treatments like K18 or glossing?
Yes. Olaplex focuses on bond repair, while K18 targets different types of damage and glossing adds shine and tone. Your stylist can recommend the best combination for your hair goals.
